Scouts BSA Troop 16 was formed on March 2nd in 1930 and is a member of the Driftless District in the Glacier's Edge Council. Troop 16 is a troop for boys ages 11 to 17.

We meet weekly during the school year to help the scouts achieve the aims of scouting: character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. We strive to be a scout-led troop, with scouts planning and leading meetings and activities as much as possible. We try to have at least one outing per month during the school year, and camp at many state and county parks and other locations in Wisconsin.

We attend summer camp each year, usually at Ed Bryant Scout Reservation. Our older scouts also participate in high adventure trips including Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier, and self-planned trips. We conduct many services projects in the near west side of Madison, including flag collection at Forest Hill cemetery after Memorial Day, Scouting for Food, partnerships with Friends of Lake Wingra, and more.

Every Scouts BSA Troop has a Chartered Organization, which assists the troop by providing a meeting place, guidance, leadership, and financial assistance, if needed. Blessed Sacrament Parish in Madison, Wisconsin, chartered Troop 16 from 1930 through 2024. In 2025, Glacier's Edge Council became the Chartered Organization for Troop 16. The Troop still meets at Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Over the years, Troop 16 has had many scouts reach the highest rank in scouting - Eagle - and has had many other scouts achieve personal growth through the program.

Troop 16 is paired with Cub Scout Pack 16, also chartered by Glacier's Edge Council and based at Blessed Sacrament, and scouts from the Pack often cross over into Troop 16 in fifth grade. We also welcome boys ages 11 to 17 from other Packs and from the community at any time.
