We meet most Tuesday evenings from 7pm-8:30pm from late August through mid-June at Blessed Sacrament. Meeting topics and activities are planned by the youth Patrol Leader's Council and focus on scout skills and advancement, team work, outing planning and preparation, games, topics of interest, and more. Some annual favorites include Thanksgiving pumpkin pie making and board game night, holiday White Elephant gift exchange, Halloween party, city council meeting and Ian's pizza night, and more.
We try to have at least one weekend outing each month from September through May which involves camping, hiking, biking, canoeing, or other outdoor or merit badge skills. Weekend destinations include Gov Dodge SP, Blue Mound SP, Wyalusing SP, Yellowstone SP, Wildcat Mountain SP, Mirror Lake SP, Devils Lake SP, New Glarus Woods SP, Black River State Forest, Ed Bryant Scout Reservation, Lloyd Dillon Scout Camp, Brigham County Park, Indian Lake County Park, Scheidegger Forest County Park, White Mound County Park and more! We've also attended museum overnights at EAA, National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium.
We attend a one week summer camp each year in June or July at Ed Bryant Scout Reservation. First year campers can learn scout skills and tackle rank advancement while older scouts earn merit badges and can opt to learn to ride ATVs and jet skis.
Older scouts (generally those 13 and older) may choose to participate in high adventure activities over the summer. This might include backpacking at Philmont, sailing in the Caribbean, or other fun activities. These trips are often planned more than one year in advance.
